About Us

Our Philosophy

You may have seen our motto, "A Family Vet for your Family Pet." Our tagline is not just a simple rhyme but reflects the values held by our veterinarians and caring staff. Extensive research indicates that having a family pet improves our lives through human-animal bonding and even has a positive impact on our physical health. We must keep our pets as healthy as possible to reap the full benefits of this relationship. In order to provide the best possible veterinary care, we focus on your pet's wellness.

Health problems will inevitably arise despite our efforts to prevent illness and injury. We believe that every condition should be viewed in the context of the whole pet and the whole family. People bring their pets to see us for a variety of reasons. For many problems, there may be several different approaches to care. The decision process for diagnosis and treatment is always a team effort at Courtenay Animal Hospital. Our veterinarians will carefully consider the pet's age and general health but also the family's available time, comfort level with medical care, and financial resources. We will make every effort to gain an understanding of your individual needs and advise you accordingly. We pledge to treat you as we would treat our own families and your pets as we would treat our own pets.
